What do you do with those few tablespoons of leftover pureed pumpkin from Thanksgiving? Try the Batter Up Cocktail by Jim Meehan. We have a Traeger grill and were so excited to use our smoked nutmeg and smoked simple syrup together in a cocktail!
Smoked Whole Nutmeg
2oz Bourbon
1.5 t Pumpkin Puree
.5 oz Traeger smoked simple syrup
1 Large Organic Egg
To smoke the nutmeg: When ready to cook, start the Traeger grill on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Place the whole nutmeg on a sheet tray and place in the grill. Smoke 1 hour. Remove from grill and let cool.
Add everything to a shaker and shake without ice. Add ice, then shake and strain into a chilled highball glass.
Garnish with grated, smoked nutmeg.
